Z-Type Bucket Elevator from Botek machinery. Space-Saving Vertical Conveyor for Powders & Granules. Maximize your production space and efficiency with our advanced Z-Type Bucket Elevator. Designed for vertical lifting of powders, granules, and small lump materials, this conveyor system combines a compact Z-shaped footprint with robust, reliable performance. Ideal for food, pharmaceutical, chemical, and agricultural applications, it ensures gentle, contained, and dust-free material transfer from 2 to 20+ meters in height.
How It Works: Precision in Motion
The Z-Type Elevator operates on a simple yet highly effective principle for continuous vertical conveying:
1.Loading: Material is fed into the intake hopper (infeed section).
2.Lifting: Specially designed buckets, attached to a durable belt or chain, scoop up the material. The system then carries it upward on a vertical path within the enclosed housing.
3.Discharging: At the top, the buckets pass over the head sprocket/pulley and gently tilt, emptying the material into the discharge chute (outfeed section).
Return: The empty buckets then return down the other side of the “Z” to the intake point, completing a continuous, efficient cycle.
Technical Specifications & Customization
Our standard TYZT Series Z-Type Elevators are built to order, ensuring a perfect fit for your needs.
Advantages
1.Space-Efficient Design: The vertical Z-configuration drastically reduces floor space compared to traditional conveyors, maximizing your plant layout.
2.Gentle & Enclosed Transport: Materials are safely carried in sealed buckets, minimizing breakage, degradation, and cross-contamination—ideal for fragile products like grains, snacks, and coated pellets.
3.Sanitary & Sealed: Choose fully enclosed, dust-tight housings in 304/316 stainless steel or painted carbon steel. Designed to meet food (FDA) and pharmaceutical (GMP) hygiene standards.
4.High Performance & Customizable: With capacities from a few kg/h to over 10 m³/h, key parameters—including height, discharge points, bucket size, and speed—can be tailored to fit your production line.
5.Durable & Easy to Maintain: Built with heavy-duty steel, engineered shafts, and reliable drives. Features like quick-access doors and replaceable liners ensure long service life with minimal downtime.
6.Wide Material Compatibility: Handles a broad range of free-flowing powders, granules, and small lumps including grains, fertilizers, plastics, chemicals, minerals, and recyclables.

Z-Type Bucket Elevator FAQS
A Z-type bucket elevator is a vertical conveying system with a distinct “Z” shaped path. Unlike conventional inclined bucket elevators that require more floor space or vertical elevators with only one lifting leg, the Z-type design features both vertical lifting and horizontal conveying in one compact unit. It uses interconnected buckets on a continuous chain/belt to gently lift materials, making it ideal for operations with limited space and multiple intake/discharge points.
Our Z-type elevators excel with free-flowing dry materials such as:
Food Products: Grains, seeds, sugar, salt, snacks, powder additives.
Agricultural: Animal feed pellets, fertilizers.
Industrial: Plastic pellets/powder, chemical granules, mineral sand, recycled plastic flakes.
General: Non-sticky, non-oily powders and small granules with good flowability.
We offer sanitary-grade Z-type elevators featuring:
Material: AISI 304 or 316L stainless steel contact surfaces.
Design: Smooth, rounded internal corners, minimal ledges, and quick-release clamps for easy access and cleaning.
Sealing: Effective dust seals and fully enclosed housings to prevent contamination.
Compliance: Designs that support adherence to FDA, GMP, and HACCP standards.
Yes, absolutely. We specialize in providing fully customized solutions to meet your exact production requirements. Our engineering team can modify standard designs in the following key areas:
Layout Configuration: While the Z-type is our standard efficient model, we can engineer other shapes to fit unique plant layouts, such as C-type or L-type configurations, optimizing the conveyor path around existing equipment or structural obstacles.
Material of Construction: We offer a range of materials based on your industry and product needs。
Specialty Materials: Options for corrosion-resistant coatings or specific alloy steels.
Specialized Features:
Explosion-Proof (ATEX/EX-Proof) Designs: For handling combustible dust or flammable materials, with certified motors, components, and grounding systems.
Sanitary/Hygienic Designs: Featuring easy-clean surfaces, quick-disconnect parts, and compliance with FDA, GMP, or 3-A standards.
Heavy-Duty Versions: Reinforced construction for high-capacity or abrasive material handling.
Multiple Inlet/Outlet Ports: Customized feeding and discharge arrangements to match your process flow.
Special Bucket Designs: Various bucket shapes, sizes, and materials (PP, nylon, stainless steel) for optimal material handling.
Integration Capabilities: We can customize drive locations, support structures, and connection interfaces to ensure seamless integration with your existing production line equipment.
We recommend sharing your specific layout drawings and process requirements. Our engineers will work with you to develop a tailored solution that optimizes performance, space utilization, and safety for your application.
Very gentle. The buckets are designed to scoop and carry material without high-impact loading. The enclosed, controlled path prevents tumbling and crushing. Discharge is achieved by gravity as buckets tip over the head sprocket, minimizing product degradation—a key advantage over screw conveyors or pneumatic systems that can damage fragile items.
Yes, this is a major advantage. A single Z-type elevator can be designed with multiple inlets along the lower horizontal section and multiple discharge outlets along the upper horizontal section. This allows for efficient blending, sorting, or distribution to different processing lines or storage silos from one central conveyor.
Our elevators are built for easy upkeep:
Access: Multiple hinged inspection panels and doors along the housing.
Wear Parts: Buckets, belts/chains, and liners are designed for easy replacement.
Cleaning: Sanitary models allow for wet cleaning (CIP options available). Openings facilitate quick manual cleaning and inspection.
